What do we specialize in?
Women's Issues
Women are entitled to care that recognizes how societal issues, social constructs, and gender roles effect their mental health. ECG handles mental health care through the lens of a women's experience allowing us to provide bespoke care that helps women to build confidence and resilience in a difficult world.
Postpartum
Postpartum is a turbulent time for women's bodies and minds. 1 in 7 women are diagnosed with Postpartum mental health conditions in the U.S., and only roughly 50% receive treatment. You are NOT alone. It is common. Therapy and medical treatment can help.
Perinatal
1 in 5 women experience related depression and/or anxiety. Pregnancy is a huge physiological, cultural, and identity transition. These big transitions can mean Perinatal Mental Health is often overlooked. Therapy can help provide a safe space to cope with change and build confidence in your future as a mother.
Maternal Health
Maternal Mental Healthcare should extend far after birth. Recent studies are giving us more insight into pregnancy's lasting effect, showing that change on the cellular level can occur as long as 5 years after pregnancy, possibly permanently. ECG treats maternal mental health with the wide scope it deserves.
Co-parenting
Becoming a parent brings up unresolved childhood issues, personal insecurities, and cracks in relationship dynamics. Confronting those issues can feel overwhelming on top of wading through your reality as a parent. Therapy's role is to help you build towards enjoying parenthood.
Grief and Loss
Unfortunately, the experience of grief is universal but coping with grief is not. Research shows that women cope with grief differently and are at a higher risk of developing prolonged grief, if they don't. ECG offers grief counseling with the unique experience of women in mind.
HOW DO WE TREAT?
Narrative therapy is a type of counseling that helps you explore the stories you tell about yourself and your life. Sometimes, those stories can feel heavy or limiting — like “I’m not a good mom” or “I’ll never feel like myself again.” Narrative therapy helps you look at those beliefs from a new perspective, separate them from who you truly are, and begin to rewrite your story in a more empowering, compassionate way. It’s about seeing yourself with more kindness and possibility.

Noelle Kristan
I was a struggling new mom who got very lost, but postpartum mental health support saved my life. That experience forced me to acknowledge how society is leaving behind mothers and women in a dangerous way. But prompt, realistic help made the difference for me—and I realized I wanted to be part of that difference.
So here I am. I’m not here to fix you or judge you—I’m here to listen. I have been exactly where you are and I know how hopeless it can feel. There is hope, and there is a way to be you again. You deserve a space—to be real, to rest, to feel supported, and to just be you, old or new.
